#DrunkOnMusic – Ankathie Koi

I HATE THE WAY YOU CHEW

DrunkOnMusic continues to strive in our quest to get you DRUNK on NEW MUSIC from around the world. On that very subject, we  introduce you to the superb Ankathie Koi. I use the superlative in the least superfluous term, this is 80s synthwave, splattered with electro and euro pop styles, its music we love on this website. Although residing in Vienna, Ankathie sings in English with a unique and strong vocal. A voice that is perfectly suited to music you’d imagine Kylie, Lady Gaga or Gwen Stefani singing too.

Its effortlessly cool with a good retro pop tryst.  From current radio favourites ‘Black Mamba’ and ‘Little Hell’, through to standout tracks ‘Loose’ ‘Cult’ and ‘Fruitflesh’, Ankathie Koi has 80s pop pioneer Powernerd on production, and its a juxtaposition of 80s synthwave heaven. ‘I Hate The Way You Chew’ is an intricate and intriguing tale of rock n roll, relationships, and songs that are peppered with emotional toil and humour. An artist of attitude, this album feels to be a ‘breakout’ for Ankathie Koi and we imagine she will be breaking UK radio, in the not to distant future.

Ankathie Koi releases I HATE THE WAY YOU CHEW on April 21st of 2017 via ROUGH TRADE distribution
