Michael Head and The Red Elastic Band have announced details of the release of a new single ‘Josephine’, which will be available from Friday July 21st 2017 VIA Violette Records.

Produced by Michael Head and fellow band member Steve Powell, the track is taken from their forthcoming album ‘Adiós Señor Pussycat’, Head’s first in over a decade, which is due for release later this summer and follows The Red Elastic Band’s debut EP, ‘Artorius Revisited’, in 2013.
‘Josephine’ carries all the hallmarks of Head’s quintessentially English song-writing style. The songs carries a certain nuance, emotion, and soaring melodies to a folky’s orchestral ballad laced with intelligence and integrity.

Undoubtedly one of the UK’s greatest living songwriters, Head may not be a name that is immediately familiar, however his influence is extensive and his music sublime. From the formation of The Pale Fountains through to the formidable SHACK, Head is an icon of the working class intelligentsia. We look forward to the album later this year.
