Choose Love

A band that #Drunkonmusic have supported from the onset, Leeds outfit FOLD are back and releasing a new single called Choose Love on November 24th in collaboration with Clue Records. It was Huey Morgan’s Beat of the Week on BBC 6 Music recently, a sign of things to come.

As the song’s title suggests, it is essentially intended as a big hug for humanity. It may sound saccharine but FOLD are a band that hold politics and social injustice very close to their musical intentions. The band have said the song is a  ‘hug for humanity’ and the song is also being supported by the Jo Cox Commission on Loneliness.

CHOOSE LOVE is a transcendental and hypnotic track that samples spoken word that’s accented by s hypnpotic bhangra influences.

The song’s main voice is that of the brilliant American feminist, author and social activist bell hooks whose ideas underline the concept of the track.

Fold continue to ignite and excite in their fervent and impassioned spoken word samples and digitally enhanced musicianship. A band that grace south Yorkshire with a unique idealism in sound and concept. Yorkshire’s answer to Public Service Broadcasting, we’d imagine FOLD have still more love to give.

The EP ‘Written in the Sky’ is available NOW.

The music will be accompanied by a beautifully illustrated zine that goes out exclusively to members of Clue’s monthly subscription club (Clue Club) ahead of the digital release.
